August 23, 2023 Phnom Penh – RMA Cambodia holds a press conference on vehicle safety standards and exclusive import rights for Land Rover to the Cambodian market.

The press conference came after the Ministry of Commerce agreed to recognize the exclusive import and distribution rights for AMA’s Land Rover automobile products and accessories. Mr. Ngorn Saing, CEO of RMA Cambodia, said, “As an exclusive distributor, RMA Cambodia is the only company authorized to import and distribute new vehicles. As well as Land Rover parts in Cambodia, and this shows our strong commitment to ensure high standards, high quality, good service and customer satisfaction. The Company would like to raise the following concerns and impacts of the simultaneous import of Land Rover cars and parts by unlicensed importers:

  • Vehicle Safety Factors: Land Rover imported and distributed by “non-exclusive importers” is a car that does not have safety standards and is not recognized by the manufacturer. And does not comply with vehicle standards set by the Cambodian Standards Institute of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation. Customers may not be aware that buying a car from an unlicensed dealer is buying a car that does not have safety standards, which can put car owners and / or passengers at risk when traveling on the road.
  • Warranty and maintenance: Dealers who do not have the right to import Land Rover cannot provide proper warranty or after-sales service. This means that customers can not find a solution in case the car is broken or faulty. Customers also can not find genuine parts that meet the standards of the manufacturer through unauthorized distributors. In particular, RMA Cambodia guarantees to provide genuine car parts imported from reliable manufacturers. Choosing to buy a Land Rover from RMA Cambodia, customers will receive many benefits, including:
  1. 5-year or 150,000km warranty (depending on which one comes first)
  2. Free maintenance for 5 years or 65,000 km (whichever comes first)
  3. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  4. Highly trained Land Rover Master Technician
  5. Mobile coverage nationwide

Unclear vehicle history: Land Rover purchased from an unlicensed dealer lacks verifiable and complete track record, unlike vehicles purchased from RMA Cambodia. Lack of this information can cause concerns about the history of those vehicles, including information about previous owners, repair records and vehicle maintenance history. These uncertainties can lead to accidents or accidents while driving on the road that endanger the lives of drivers and / or passengers.

Purchasing and financing: Land Rover purchased from an unlicensed dealer may have a lower resale value compared to a vehicle purchased from RMA Cambodia. In addition, financing options may be limited for customers who wish to purchase a vehicle from an unlicensed dealer, as banking institutions may be reluctant to provide loans or favorable terms for such vehicles.

RMA Cambodia would like to express its concern over the recent Range Rover fire in Phnom Penh and on the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway. The company would like to reiterate that the Range Rover that caught fire was not a car purchased from RMA Cambodia. The Range Rover fire incident has raised concerns for RMA Cambodia as the exclusive distributor of high-safety vehicles, as well as undermining To ensure the quality and safety standards of vehicles, RMA Cambodia would like to remind all customers to consider buying a Land Rover from RMA Cambodia, a company that has the right to import and distribute legally in Cambodia.
