Detroit Children’s Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring Detroit children obtain a quality education, will receive $550,000 from the auction of the first retail production all-electric 2025 Cadillac ESCALADE IQ, VIN 001.
The nonprofit will receive the full amount raised for the Cadillac ESCALADE IQ at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction held Oct. 12, 2024. Barrett-Jackson waived the fees and commissions associated with their collector vehicle auctions.
“The education of its children is paramount to the stability and long-term health of any city, and we’re thrilled that the sale of the first ESCALADE IQ will benefit the work the Detroit Children’s Fund is doing in our hometown,” said General Motors President Mark Reuss. “We are grateful to Barrett-Jackson for the support in the sale of this historic vehicle to help a great cause.”
DCF helps to improve public education in Detroit by working with proven school leaders to bridge the funding gap and address the unique needs of individual schools and, most importantly, their students. The funds from the sale of the ESCALADE IQ will benefit thousands of students that attend DCF supported schools.
“We are grateful to General Motors, Cadillac, and the winning bidder for their support of our mission,” said Nick Karmanos, CEO of Detroit Children’s Fund. “Thanks to this incredible donation, more students will have access to the quality education they deserve. This is life-changing support that will benefit so many of Detroit’s children.”
